These are the hardest letters for English speakers to grasp because they are what we call in Hebrew the "silent" letters. They act as vowels in a Hebrew word and can make basically any vowel sound depending on the tiny dots and dashes (called nikud). This week your assignment is to learn these letters, and their many possible sounds. Lesson 1 below will teach you the letter names, sounds, and Numeric values You can print it and add it to your notebook, or just save it digitally to read and come back to as needed throughout the week. After you have read and completed the assignment click on the Audio link to hear the Hebrew sounds these letters make when paired with nikud. Finally wrap up your lesson by completing the Handwriting page below. You can print this page and glue it into your notebook, or just use it to copy the character right from a tablet or laptop, whatever works best for you! Work at your own pace. You can complete this entire Lesson in a single day or continue to practice throughout the week- it's up to you!
